Alison Nash Gains LEED Accreditation 08 June 2009

In keeping with our continuing commitment to sustainability, Alison Nash of John Snyder Architects (JSA) is now a LEED Accredited Professional. Nash, Principal in the Interior Design department has been with JSA for 2 years. She recently passed the LEED AP-CI exam. Alison strives to be an example for environmental leadership and responsibility by viewing each design and product selection as an opportunity to make a difference. As head of JSA Interiors, she is directly involved with administrating and executing all phases of Interior Design. She is working on 2 projects targeting various levels of LEED Certification: the Sage Block building on the Ithaca Commons and the redevelopment of the Bresees department store in Oneonta. As a top area designer, Alison is often called upon for input regarding how better to achieve sustainability. She became a LEED AP because she felt as a designer she has an opportunity to help clients understand the importance of creating lasting environments, while reducing the impact building and construction has on the environment. With a more complete understanding of the means available for accomplishing these goals, she could be a better representative of the movement towards creating sustainable environments. Alison believes in the social responsibility of green building. Understanding of the LEED system and professional accreditation is integral to this process. I look forward to utilizing my knowledge of sustainable design for the benefit of our community and existing clients on our interior design and lighting design projects.” says Nash.
